Miami-Dade Mayor and the Department of Solid Waste Management unveils Miami-Dade County’s Zero Waste Master Plan
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) will officially unveil Miami-Dade County's Zero Waste Master Plan (ZWMP) during a press conference on Friday, July 31, 2026.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) will officially unveil Miami-Dade County's Zero Waste Master Plan (ZWMP) during a press conference on Friday, July 31, 2026. Hosted in partnership with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), the event will highlight the Plan's vision, key goals, and implementation strategies to help advance waste reduction, recycling, organics management, and a more circular economy throughout Miami-Dade County.
The event will also showcase the progress already underway through existing County initiatives, partnerships, and projects supporting implementation of the Plan - including the County's strategic partnership with the GMCVB - and will feature engaging, interactive exhibits and activities that demonstrate how residents, businesses, and community partners can help build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Miami-Dade.

Media registration/set-up begins at 9:15 a.m. and the event begins at 10 a.m. Following the formal program, media will have an opportunity to conduct interviews and ask questions about the Plan. The hotel will offer both self-parking and valet parking for event attendees at a rate of $26 for the day.
