NewLife Expo, America’s longest-running event focused on holistic enlightenment and rejuvenation, takes place February 2 to 3, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Deerfield Beach-Boca Raton. Its organizer, Mark Becker, says he’s grateful for the continued success and growth of what he started 29 years ago. “Boca is midway between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale and convenient for attendees from both past expos. Also, my Miami attendees were complaining; now, being right off I-95, it’s also convenient for them.”

Museum of Discovery and Science Launches Sensory-Friendly Screenings

In an effort to provide an inclusive experience for all, on December 15, 2018, the Museum of Discovery and Science launched its new Sensory-Friendly Screenings at the AutoNation IMAX Theater, in Fort Lauderdale.
To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the museum raises the lights, lowers the sound and shows the films in 2D. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, dance and shout. This program is endorsed by the Autism Society of Florida.

Do you eat on the run, in your car, at your desk or in front of the TV? We have a myriad of distractions all around us. Have you ever opened a bag of chips or cookies with the intent to have one or two, and before you realized it, they were gone? This is an example of mindless eating. Pure and simple. Eating mindfully can impact how much you eat and ultimately your weight loss success.
The goal for mindful eating is to experience food more intensely by paying attention to the sensation and flavor of each bite.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic

Upper cervical chiropractic doesn’t mean much to people right now but it will. There are 75,000 chiropractors in the U.S. and over 30,000 chiropractors in over 100 different countries worldwide. There are less than 300 board certified Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractors worldwide.
Atlas orthogonal (A/O) chiropractic is a specialty in chiropractic much like neurology is in the medical field. A/O is an upper cervical technique that focuses on the relationship between the skull (head) to the atlas (first cervical vertebrae-C1) and how the atlas relates to the axis (C2). Skull-C1-C2 is referred to as the upper cervical area.

Managing Alcohol Intake

Many people are learning how to moderate their drinking—a good thing. Drinking becomes a habit and there are ways to create new habits such as moderating just how much alcohol is ingested.

With many different solutions for different people, here are a few suggestions: If you are drinking every day, cut it to six days. Drink one less drink at an evening out. Watch the slowest drinker and take a sip every time he or she does. Keep water by your drink and take sips.
