Local artist and activist SusieQ Wood will be displaying a selection of her environmental art pieces at Fort Lauderdale City Hall, April 3 through April 28. Opening Night and an opportunity to meet with the artist takes place on Tuesday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. This exhibit is meant to increase awareness of the impact trash and litter have on our planet and to raise consciousness on transforming trash into treasure. The exhibit will be on display through Earth Day to support the city’s initiatives for raising awareness on this vital issue.
SusieQ, an award-winning artist and publisher of Natural Awakenings magazine in Broward County, is the Eco-Program Director for Broward County’s Kids Ecology Corp. She produced the Expo of Heart for seven years, promoting the integrative wellness industry, attracting over 2,000 people annually. Her current work focuses on environmental health and she has connected with organizations such as Warner Independent Films, Lovewell, Water Matters, Citrix Corp., Museum of Science and Discovery and many others. She has exhibited her art in Los Angeles, Seattle, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and is a member of the local ArtServe and Broward Art Guild.
