Who would believe coffee to be mystical? Tea, maybe. At Alchemist Café, you’ll find a woodsy atmosphere with the mysterious and scientific application to creating the most enduring cup of coffee possible, amid a sanctuary from the daily bustle. Beakers, retorts and siphons abound. The process is called "siphon coffee" which involves light, slow roasting, bringing the water up to the coffee at a mild temperature so as to save the nutrients, flavor and caffeine in the beans.
Proprietor Matias states, "I am an alchemist, I am soul searching; bringing people together to allow them to enjoy what they are doing at the moment: connecting with each other. We are the new social media." Lucia, a partner in the café, explains, "We compare our café experience to visiting a great Napa Valley winery."
Alchemist Café’s coffee is super smooth, not acidic. For iced coffee, they employ a traditional method using coffee ice cubes, cream and turbinado sugar. And then there are the slicers: open-face sandwiches served on a sliced piece of tree, including Mediterranean, Tuna Avocado, BBQ Pulled Pork, and Vegetarian, using fresh organic ingredients and rustic bread.
