Victoria House Corporation (VHC), a San Diego-based nonprofit, is hosting the landmark event, Light Up The Sky For Breast Cancer™, a “Day of Hope & Remembrance”. On October 19, at 7pm PST across the nation, participants will pause for a moment-of-silence to honor those who have succumbed, offer hope and healing for those determined to overcome, and celebrate victory for those who have survived. Following this moment-of-silence, participants will lift their hands to shoot a pink-streaming light into the night sky. Simultaneously across the U.S., participants will join together in a monumental act of awareness and belief for a cure.
VHC is seeking commitments from nationwide coordinators, event locations, sponsors and volunteers. Individuals and/or businesses may participate, donate, volunteer, and get involved at LightUpTheSkyForBreastCancer.org, and by “Liking” us on Facebook.com/LightUpTheSkyForBreastCancer.
Other happenings include the lighting-up of buildings in pink during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. Two San Diego hotels, the Marriott Marquis and Marina, and the Hilton Bayfront, are engaged in this endeavor. During September, the premiere of the commercial “Lifetime” will go viral online and via national media.
