The expansion of Frame ‘n Art by the Sea was a perfect scenario. Artist Jeanette Shampain, owner of Art by the Sea, wanted to spend more time enjoying her grandkids and cultivating her love of art and teaching. Mike and Teresa Mangini’s Frame ‘n Art shop was outgrowing its space. “We have so many great customers and we wanted to better accommodate them,” said Teresa. The three business owners decided to team up to share a larger space on Commercial Boulevard with Jeanette creating in-house art and teaching, and Mike and Teresa creating beautiful custom frame designs.
Recently, they were thrilled to build a custom frame for a 6’ x 6’ piece of original art, and they built two shadowboxes — one for a war hero’s WWI medal and another for a New York Giants autographed jersey. Another fun piece they worked on was a dimpled golf ball mat they used to frame a photo of golf legends. The Manginis agree it is truly rewarding to see their customers’ joy when receiving a finished piece. “We can frame anything,” says Mike.
