We’re ending world hunger. Are you in? That’s the question asked by the South Florida team planning The Time is Now, an event designed to create a community of people investing in the end of world hunger.
The Time is Now is being put on in partnership with The Hunger Project (thp.org). When The Hunger Project was launched in 1977, the declaration that “the end of hunger is an idea whose time has come” was a bit of a lonely echo in the wilderness. Today, other voices—from Meryl Streep to Stephen Hawking to every UN member country—are joining a growing chorus that is calling for the end of extreme hunger and poverty in the world by the year 2030.
The Time is Now takes place 6:30pm, January 29, at Leiser Opera Center, Fort Lauderdale. No charge to attend; valet parking will be available for $7.
