FAU researcher and founder of Core Creations, Inc. (a Florida Non-profit), Traci Ingersoll has designed an unparalleled research study to learn how art and relaxation techniques can help children feel happy and healthy during stressful times.
Core Creations combines scientific evidence and multi-sensory methods of art, music, and relaxation to promote an understanding of emotions on a deeper level. Emotional stress affects the whole body and to express feelings verbally only scratches the surface of what’s going on internally. “There really is nothing out there like this,” Ingersoll said. “Its art; its relaxation; it’s fun! And the fact that this research study is not designed to complete a Master’s Thesis or Doctoral Dissertation means that the purpose of this research study is for the greater good and well-being of children and teens.”
The study is for boys and girls, 10 to 13 years old. The commitment required is once a week, one to two hours, for 12 consecutive weeks. Free. No artistic ability needed and children get to take home their masterpieces at the last session.
Participants needed. Contact Research Director, Traci Ingersoll, at 281-782-8654 or [email protected] Study details can be found at CoreCreations.org/fau-research-study.
