Ars Flores Young Artists Concerto Competition Winners’ Concert

Six talented winners will perform their winning solos with the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, April 5, 7:30 p.m., with a complimentary pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. and a post-concert reception.

Division I winners (ages 14-18) are Arastu Sharma—Flute, Pine Crest School; Charles Comiter—Marimba, Dreyfoos School of the Arts; Liana Branscome—Violin, Home-schooled. Division II winners (ages 18-25) are Jason Marcell Gomez—Piano, Florida Gulf Coast University; Emily Nourishirazi—Piano, University of Miami; Aneliya Novikova—Piano, Lynn University, Conservatory of Music.

There will be a special art exhibit/sale in the lobby with works by environmental artist Susan “SusieQ” Wood, including pieces from her Mixed Media Series (utilizing discarded objects found on local land and beaches); Quantum Expression Series; and Local Landscape Series done in abstract realism.

Concert takes place at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University, 3100 Ray Ferrero, Jr. Boulevard, Davie. Concert tickets are $40, $30/seniors, $15/students with ID; purchase at the door or call 954-262-5303.
